As we close out 2024, the climate tech sector continues to adapt to an evolving investment environment. The market has matured over the past years. Investments continued to shift from early-stage transactions to mid-stage ones, which, together with late-stage deals, accounted for 37% of all climate tech deals in the first three quarters of 2024, up from around 20% in 2019.  On the other hand, the optimistic IPO forecast for 2025 and beyond points to a broader investment transformation.

Ashwin Shashindranath is co-leading the Deep Decarbonization Frontier Strategy. He focuses on investments in revolutionary technologies that will have a major impact on mitigating the effects of climate change. He is passionate about working with entrepreneurs who are genuinely excited about being agents of change in the climate tech landscape.  

Ashwin brings 17 years of experience with a unique combination of investment and hands-on entrepreneurial experience at startups.

Rokas Peciulaitis, Founder & Managing Partner at Contrarian Ventures

Rokas Peciulaitis is a Founding and Managing Partner at Contrarian Ventures. Previously he was inflation and derivatives trader at Bank of America Merrill Lynch based out of London. Most recently, he was overseeing the launch of an Aviation investment vehicle, Avia Capital at Avia Solution Group. In addition, was part of the exclusive government program “Kurk Lietuvai”, where he was advising Lithuanian government institutions, including Ministry of Economy, Enterprise Lithuania and Ministry of Energy on entrepreneurship and key strategic projects. He is also co-founder of Gatepool and serves as a Strategic Advisor.
